This 1963-1966 Epiphone came in for repair.  The owner had taken it someplace else to see if they could reset the bridge and make it playable 10 years earlier but was told it wasn't worth the effort.  The guitar had been sitting unplayed for about 30 years according to the owner.  The finish was cracked and checked the wood and fretboard was very dried out, the bridge and sound board had lifted about a half inch making the action super high.

The first order of business was to take the strings off and start cleaning and conditioning it.  Multiple applications of Lemon oil was applied until the wood no longer drank it up like a dehydrated camel.  Next was remove the bridge and work on flattening the sound board.  Steam was applied to assist in removing the warp and the guitar was clamped with my purpose built Windlass clamp.  This process was repeated a half dozen times in order to not strain the wood and avoid cracking.

Once the sound board was back to where it belonged a bridge Dr. support was installed inside the guitar and the bridge was reinstalled using period correct Hide glue.  It was restrung and sounds as good as it did 50+ years ago when it was first manufactured.
